Who are the Portugueses?
Who are we? How is organized the society we live in? How were we 40 years ago? And how are we today? One of the most interesting ways to know our country and mores, is to go through changes. Many have no idea how much it cost our grandparents to live at that time, how much people suffocated in Portugal, how much wanted to scream the word FREEDOM and couldn't, and how much wanted to be FREE! Today we are different, thanks to those changes. Today we live longer and better. Today we are grateful to be free, and to not forget who we were and who we are.
"The life of a free person is considered offensive to all those who are bound by appearances and rules."
Liberdade, Minha is a multidisciplinary show, where the word "Freedom" is the key, in this piece that portrays the time before, during and after April 25th of 1974 in Portugal. 50 minutes without intermission, is a show in Portuguese where the videography has a strong connection with dance. A co-production with Cinema Teatro Joaquim d´Almeida, in Montijo, premiered at the commemorations of April 25th and World Dance Day of the city.
"Freedom is not power, is to be! And to be is to live!"
